Our focus at MOORE TRAINING is on you.

Head Coach -- Whitney Moore, MS, CSCS*D

In addition to being a national speaker on strength and conditioning for youth (both competitive athletes and non-athletes); she is an adjunct faculty member of Pima Community College's Fitness and Sport Sciences Department; Tucson Citizen columnist on youth health and exercise; and published author, including her Master's Thesis in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning, which compared the effectiveness of Olympic-style Lifts to plyometrics for sport performance, specifically with collegiate level soccer players.  She is privileged to be on the Executive Council for the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Youth Special Interest Group.

Prior to her arrival in Tucson, Coach Whitney completed her Masters in Health and Exercise Science, with an emphasis on Nutrition at Colorado State University -- where she coached the University's club Women's Soccer team to a National Tournament birth.  From 2000-2001 she trained West Virginia University's Division I athletes for multiple sports, including: gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, swim and dive teams. During her three years at WVU, she completed her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the School of Medicine, while also playing soccer for the University. Upon graduation, she received the Outstanding Exercise Physiology Senior Class Award, and earned summa cum laude honors as well.

Assistant Coaches and Personal Trainers: Becca, Aaron, and Lauren

Becca is about to celebrate her one year anniversary as a MOORE TRAINING coach -- March 2007!  Although primarily coaching our adult semi-private training sessions, she has also shown her abilities to work with youth when coaching some of our youth athleticism and core 'n' cardio sessions as well.  She does a great job of keeping participants focused on their training.

Aaron specializes in one-on-one training and is an evening semi-private training session coach.  His training experience varies from youth and college athletes -- including Pima's Baseball team since 2000 -- to maintaining working and retired adults' healthy-active lifestyles.  No matter your current activity level, Aaron is here to take you to the next level.

Lauren provides one-on-one personal training for active individuals.  She specializes in training for runners (form first 5k to experienced marathoner) and triathletes.  Her training sessions offer great variety and personalized program design.  She is co-coach for Blue Pants Racing.  Set-up an initial visit with Lauren directly at 520-495-9122.

MOORE TRAINING is more than an athleticism training facility, we are also a teaching facility, with an internships open for both high school and college/university students.  These programs were started and are run by Head Coach Whitney Moore, because she believes in the importance of hands on experience in this field through observation, questioning, debate, and personal coaching experience.  MOORE TRAINING interns have the unique experience to daily access one of Tucson's two highest certified coaches, national speaker, and published researcher.  Below is a brief description of MOORE TRAINING's internship program.  Please contact us for further information or to set-up an interview for a future internship.

Training Focus
As with our training, our interns learn how to apply cutting edge, elite athlete based strength and conditioning methodology to all ages and levels!  A solid understanding is developed through reading articles, and group/one-one-one article discussion articles.  Interactive observation of training sessions for adults, youths, and collegiate athletes.

Coaching Style Development
Your coaching style will always be developing, but while you're are MOORE TRAINING you'll have the opportunity to progress up to running group or one-on-one training sessions by the end of your internship.  These observed training sessions will be used to then give you feedback to quickly increase you coaching effectiveness, propelling you to having the greatest influence on those your coach!

MOORE TRAINING Experience Difference
Enjoy Head Coach Whitney Moore as your personal mentor!  She personally observes your coaching segments to accelerate your coaching development. She is also there teaching training training methodology, in addition to exercise form and progression.
Internship Schedule and Availability
Schedule and availability are both based on an individual basis.  Typically, internships are equivalent to one semester or 5 months in length, however specific needs are taken into account.  The intern's schedule and training interests determines his/her specific intern schedule and hours.  We work to expose each intern to as many different training experiences as possible to maximize each person's MOORE TRAINING experience.
